Josh Allen recently opened up in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, revealing that his discovery of Natrol came in the most unexpected way \u2014 during a long-haul flight back from Europe. \u201cI’ve tried a lot of sleep and melatonin products before, and I just feel like they didn’t work for me,\u201d Allen said. But this time, things were different. \u201cI slept 10 hours on [that] flight. It was nine-and-a-half, 10 hours straight… I couldn’t believe there was only three hours left in the flight. It was such a moment for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

For an athlete who pours everything into the gridiron during the season and packs his schedule with travel, events, and golf during the offseason, sleep has been an elusive game-changer. \u201cThroughout my career, my sleep has probably been the next thing that I need to really attack,\u201d he admitted. \u201cIn the last couple of years, I’ve really gotten my diet down… but I still found myself, 11:30, midnight still up. And it’s not that I’m not trying to sleep \u2014 my mind is racing a million miles a minute.\u201dIt\u2019s clear that Allen isn\u2019t just endorsing a product \u2014 he\u2019s integrating it into his lifestyle. \u201cIf I can get diet down as well as my sleep down, sky’s the limit… I feel like this truly does help me be that [best version of myself].\u201dTo celebrate his collaboration with Natrol, Allen stepped into a surprising new role \u2014 Hollywood actor, at least for a day. In his new commercial, Allen plays multiple versions of himself, from quarterback to red carpet star to \u2014 yes \u2014 even a doctor. \u201cWe got to do a really cool commercial,\u201d Allen said, laughing. \u201cAnd it really did feel like I was an actor, a Hollywood actor.\u201d He added, \u201cWe had all these different props… But it was a pretty cool-looking commercial and I was very excited to be a part of it.\u201dOff the field, Allen\u2019s life also hit a new milestone. On May 31, he married Sinners star Hailee Steinfeld in an outdoor ceremony in California. \u201cI will mention that I did get married and that was the most important part,\u201d Allen said with a grin. Their wedding was attended by close friends, teammates, and even Curb Your Enthusiasm\u2019s Larry David.
