Since the year 2000, the Cowboys<\/a> may not have seen outstanding team success when it comes to deep playoff runs, but that doesn\u2019t mean they haven\u2019t had standout performers.<\/p>\n

Whether it be on the defensive end with the likes of Demarcus Ware<\/a> tearing through offensive lines or on offense having CeeDee Lamb<\/a> put up historic numbers in 2023, Dallas has had dudes.<\/p>\n

ESPN on Wednesday released its NFL All Quarter Century team<\/a>, which is defined as the league\u2019s best players and coaches since the year 2000.<\/p>\n

Below are the Cowboys players who made the cut.<\/p>\n

Wide receiver Terrell Owens <\/p>\n

Owens played for the Cowboys from 2006-2008, where he had 235 receptions for 3,587 receiving yards and 38 touchdowns. He led the league in receiving touchdowns in his first season in Dallas in 2006 and was named to the All-Pro first team in 2007.<\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Seth Walder said, \u201cOwens would play through any injury for this team, as evidenced by his miraculous 122-yard performance in Super Bowl XXXIX after breaking his leg seven weeks earlier.\u201d<\/p>\n

Right guard Zack Martin<\/p>\n

The recently retired Martin was a mainstay on the Cowboys\u2019 offensive line from 2014-2024 after being selected with the 16th overall pick out of Notre Dame. <\/p>\n

Martin would make the All-Pro first team seven times and was a part of the NFL\u2019s 2010s All-Decade Team.<\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Aaron Schatz said, \u201cFormer Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo once saidMartin didn\u2019t have a weakness and had everything required of an offensive lineman at an elite level: footwork, base, punch, athleticism, strength and mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Edge rusher Demarcus Ware<\/p>\n

Ware played for the Cowboys from 2005-2013, where he racked up 117 sacks in a Dallas uniform, including 32 forced fumbles.<\/p>\n

He was named to the All-Pro first team four times and led the league in sacks twice as a Cowboy. <\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Aaron Schatz said, \u201cThere are so many great edge rushers to choose from, but they generally come in two categories: great career totals or great peaks with a high ratio of sacks to games played. Ware had the best balance between the two.\u201d<\/p>\n

Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips<\/p>\n

While Phillips might not have made this list as a head coach (the position he had while in Dallas), the Texas native certainly built up a resume as a DC during his time in the league.<\/p>\n

Phillips coached the Cowboys from 2007-2010, but stood out with his stints as a DC in Atlanta, San Diego, Houston and Denver.<\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Aaron Schatz said, \u201cHe took the Falcons\u2019 defense from 24th in DVOA in 2001 to 10th in 2002. He took the Chargers\u2019 defense from 28th in 2003 to ninth in 2004. He took the Texans\u2019 defense — with some help from rookie J.J. Watt, of course — from 30th in 2010 to eighth in 2011. Then he took the Broncos to No. 1 in defensive DVOA in both 2015 and 2016, with a Super Bowl championship.\u201d<\/p>\n
