Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has stepped up to the mic with an apology to Shedeur Sanders and his family. After his 21-year-old son, Jax Ulbrich, pulled a prank call<\/a> during the 2025 NFL Draft, Jeff is taking full accountability while speaking about how well the Sanders family has handled the drama.<\/p>\n

Jeff Ulbrich Apologizes To Shedeur And His Family<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, April 30, Ulbrich stood at a press conference in Georgia to share some words amid the controversy. While speaking to reporters, he stated, \u201cI publicly apologize to Shedeur and the Sanders family for what happened.\u201d Ulbrich also expressed regret to Falcons owner Arthur Blank, Terry Fontenot, and head coach Raheem Morris for involving them in the mess.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy actions by not protecting confidential data were inexcusable,\u201d he said. \u201cMy son\u2019s actions were absolutely inexcusable and for that we are both deeply sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, Ulbrich went on to briefly discuss the NFL\u2019s strict action against him for failing to protect confidential league details, which he claims he fully complies with. He declared that he and his son will prove they are \u201cbetter than this.\u201d Then, in a separate clip<\/a> taken at the conference, Ulbrich also made sure to praise the Sanders family for being \u201camazingly gracious\u2026 more than they needed to be\u201d when he apologized to Deion and Shedeur in person.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The NFL wasn\u2019t playing when it came to this breach of confidentiality, y\u2019all. On Wednesday, April 30, the league issued the Atlanta Falcons with a $250,000 fine<\/a> and Jeff Ulbrich with a $100,000 fine for \u201cfailing to prevent the disclosure of confidential information.\u201d The Falcons accepted the punishment and promised to tighten up their security protocols moving forward. Additionally, the Ulbrich family is teaming up with the organization for community service initiatives to make amends, per Yahoo<\/a>. Meanwhile, the Ulbrich controversy has since sparked the NFL to investigate OTHER prank calls it received during the draft, leading to a full-scale ongoing investigation. So far, however, there has been no word on whether the league has identified any other prank callers yet.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Coach Prime dropped a powerful message alongside the pic, and it\u2019s straight-up giving, \u201cwe are protected by God.\u201d<\/p>\n
