Celina (Texas) High On300 quarterback Bowe Bentley<\/a> has committed to Oklahoma, giving the Sooners a huge boost on the trail and locking in their next signal-caller. <\/p>\n

The ballyhooed passer returned to Norman this weekend and gave Brent Venables and his staff the pledge in person.<\/p>\n

\u201dGreat day,\u201d Bentley said. He took his official visit the weekend of June 6 and marinated on it from there.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe development and everything and the feeling I got leaving the place. I haven\u2019t got that feeling anywhere else.\u201d<\/p>\n

The four-star Bentley chose Oklahoma over LSU. He also strongly considered Georgia and Ohio State. New offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle offered Bentley not long after being hired this off-season in Norman. Transfer quarterback John Mateer<\/a> came with Arbuckle from Washington State and made an impact.<\/p>\n

So did the latest No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft Cam Ward<\/a>, who lit it up for a year under Arbuckle on the Palouse.<\/p>\n

\u201dTalking to Cam Ward and hearing his thoughts,\u201d Bentley said. \u201cI felt like a priority to Oklahoma. Not just the offensive staff. Everyone that works there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bentley sees Venables and the Sooners turning it around this fall and rolling from there.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s on the rise,\u201d Bentley said. \u201cI\u2019m excited to be part of it and make a huge impact.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bentley grew up an Oklahoma fan and has been to countless games in Norman.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone makes it feel like it\u2019s home. I can\u2019t really describe it,\u201d Bentley said. \u201cIt\u2019s pretty amazing, dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

On3 tabs the 6-foot-1, 200-pound as the nation\u2019s No. 5 quarterback and No. 41 prospect overall. He had a great showing this past week at the Elite 11 Finals<\/a>, with On3\u2019s Charles Power giving him high praise as one of the camp\u2019s top performers.<\/p>\n

\u201cBentley got better as the week wore on, turning in two of the best performances we saw over the last two days. He excelled when things went live. While others had issues adjusting to the uptick in speed, things moved slowly for the Texas high school football star. Bentley was on target on 18 of 20 passes on his pro day, excelling while throwing on the move. Bentley continued to flash his quick processor, zipping through his reads during 7-on-7 play while throwing four touchdowns. As a dual-threat quarterback who ran for over 900 yards as a junior, this setting doesn\u2019t fully show Bentley\u2019s skill set. With that said, it was a good showing for the top 100 prospect.\u201d<\/p>\n

The On3 Industry slots Bentley as the No. 7 passer and No. 76 player overall. He is commit No. 10 for Oklahoma in the 2026 class.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a junior en route to a state title, Bentley carved up defenses to the tune of 3,330 yards passing and 47 touchdowns, completing 70 percent of his throws.
