Presumably, Travis Etienne, Tank Bigsby, Bhayshul Tuten, and perhaps LeQuint Allen will all have roles, but how the playing time amongst this group shakes out in Liam Coen’s new offense is an unknown.

The Jaguars need more consistency from their running game this season. In part, having that element is a key element within Coen’s scheme, but in addition to that, when an offense has a strong running game to lean on, it keeps them ahead of the sticks and out of predictable passing situations, which can then open up opportunities through the air as well.

To help accomplish this, GM James Gladstone has reshaped the offensive line unit this offseason, with the Jaguars leaning heavily into competition this offseason, which then hopefully leads to improved play up front. Coen’s focus on multiplicity throughout the offense and throwing a variety of different looks at opposing defenses can potentially help open up some opportunities as well for the skill position players.

Now, as far as PFF’s grading system goes, I always want to add the caveat that this metric is far from the be-all end-all when it comes to evaluating a player’s performance. It is one tool out of many that are out there and should be treated as such.

For some context around these metrics, here is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:

Alright, now let’s dive in. Along with each player’s grade from PFF, in parentheses is their ranking among the position group.

Tank Bigsby

PFF grade: 68.1 (35th/50)

Bigsby averaged 4.6 yards per rush and scored seven touchdowns last season. Among his position group, Bigsby ranked 13th in yards per carry, third in average yards after contact, and 13th in missed tackles forced, despite being 28th in carries. This led to some explosive runs, with Bigsby also ranking 11th in PFF’s breakaway rate, which measures how often a back had a rush of 15 or more yards. Bigsby did lose three fumbles as well.

Travis Etienne

PFF grade: 60.7 (46th/50)

After two 1,000-yard seasons in 2022 and 2023, Etienne’s production took a big dip last season. He would finish the year rushing for only 558 yards at 3.7 yards per rush with two touchdowns. From the sounds of it, Coen will make a much greater effort to find ways of getting Etienne the ball in space where he is at his best.

Bhayshul Tuten

PFF grade: 77.4*

The fastest running back in this year’s draft, Tuten was a big-play threat, averaging 6.3 yards per rush and being very difficult to bring down. He ranked well in missed tackles forced and average yards after contact.

*PFF grade from final college season

LeQuint Allen

PFF grade: 80.4*

Allen brings a productive and three-down skill set to the Jaguars. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in 2023 and 2024. He’s also been very active in the passing game with 78 targets this past year as well, totaling 529 more yards.

*PFF grade from final college season

Ja’Quinden Jackson

PFF grade: 80.5*

A UDFA signing after the 2025 NFL draft, Jackson averaged 5.4 yards per rush and totaled 800 rushing yards in 2024, which was his first season at Arkansas. He played his first three seasons at Utah. Jackson’s role in the passing game was relatively small, with 14 targets.

*PFF grade from final college season

This article originally appeared on Jaguars Wire: PFF grades for Tank Bigsby, Travis Etienne and Jaguars running backs

What grades from Pro Football Focus did the Jacksonville Jaguars’ running backs receive for their performances last season?
