The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> did not use any of their 11 selections in the 2025 NFL draft<\/a> on a nose tackle. Some of the notable selections at the position occurred around the Seahawks’ picks, including prospects like Alfred Collins (No. 43), Cam Jackson (No. 140, two picks ahead of the Seahawks’ 142nd selection), and Yahya Black (164, again, two selections ahead of the Seahawks’ 166th pick).<\/p>\n

With the right opportunity failing to materialize for the Seahawks to add a nose tackle during the draft, general manager John Schneider quickly shifted attention back to the veteran free agent market. The Seahawks are bringing back interior defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins via a one-year deal, according to various reports.<\/p>\n

The veteran Hankins appeared in all 17 regular-season contests for the Seahawks last season. He was credited with making eight defensive starts, playing a total of 390 selfless snaps. Hankins was a keynote rotational member of Mike Macdonald’s defensive line rotation, and now he’ll return for his 13th NFL season.<\/p>\n

Nose tackle was an important position in Macdonald’s defense throughout 2024. The Seahawks failed to select a like-for-like replacement for Hankins during the draft. Schneider wisely pivoted by bringing Hankins back via a team-friendly one-year contract.<\/p>\n
