Anytime you have the reigning NFL MVP like the Buffalo Bills<\/a> do with dual-threat quarterback Josh Allen, you\u2019re going to have a great chance to win the majority of your games. But despite having one of the NFL\u2019s most prolific offenses, the Bills endured yet another close playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> in the AFC Championship<\/a> game.<\/p>\n

This offseason, general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott set out to solve Buffalo\u2019s roster issues, shoring up several important positions on the defensive side of the ball \u2014 which has arguably been their most glaring weakness in the playoffs \u2014 through both NFL free agency and the NFL Draft<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Bills, who are returning over 80% of last year\u2019s roster that claimed a fifth consecutive AFC East crown, spent significant resources to improve the defensive line and pass rush and used six of their first seven draft picks on defense, a move meant to solve the team\u2019s struggles to consistently apply pressure on the quarterback last year.<\/p>\n

With additions like Larry Ogunjobi, Michael Hoecht, and Joey Bosa to the defensive line, Maxwell Hairston, Tre\u2019Davious White, and Dane Jackson to the secondary, and Joshua Palmer and Elijiah Moore to the wide receiver room, general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott have made moves designed to strengthen the roster and potentially solve their issues from past playoff losses.<\/p>\n

Factor in the dynamic play of Allen behind one of the league\u2019s best offensive lines and continued development and growth from Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and Dalton Kincaid and a potent ground game and it appears that the Bills have their most complete roster of the Josh Allen era heading into the 2025 NFL season.<\/p>\n
