As owner Jerry Jones pushes another Dallas Cowboys’ high-profile contract to the brink, it now appears likely that star linebacker Micah Parsons will enter training camp without an extension.<\/p>\n

That opens up Jones to more criticism. And fans of Parsons to more teasing.<\/p>\n

NBA superstar Kevin Durant has long been a vocal supporter of the Washington Commanders. In step, he has a healthy distaste for the NFC East rival Cowboys.<\/p>\n

It seems Durant would have enough on his plate – what with being traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets on Sunday – but he made time to put into a play a prediction that would make most Commanders fans happy:<\/p>\n

Micah to Washington.<\/p>\n

In an interview with FanDuel’s Kay Adams<\/a> at an event on Sunday, Durant said Parsons would join the Commanders “in a couple years.” Parsons is never one to ignore a juicy rumor or public debate, and of course just had to jump in and respond.<\/p>\n

“I think Micah will be a Commander at some point in his career. I want to say, two years from now,” said Durant.<\/p>\n

Replied Parsons, “I only rock with Dan Quinn, know what I mean?”<\/p>\n

“Exactly. That’s all you need to rock with,” said Durant.<\/p>\n

While not technically tampering, Durant’s public recruitment raised eyebrows. Obviously Quinn – the Commanders’ head coach who was Parsons’ defensive coordinator in Dallas – would love to have Micah again.<\/p>\n

But Parsons’ comment has to sting his new head coach Brian Schottenheimer and new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus.<\/p>\n

Entering the summer without a contract for next season, Parsons took part in Dallas’ OTAs and recent minicamp at The Star in Frisco.<\/p>\n

Until a contract is done, Durant and the Commanders can dream about a future with Jayden Daniels leading the offense and Parsons the defense.<\/p>\n
