A second offensive lineman associated with the\u00a0Miami Dolphins<\/a> has announced his retirement from professional football this offseason.<\/p>\n

In April, it was Terron Armstead, a 12-year offensive tackle named to five Pro Bowls, who announced he would be hanging up his cleats and moving on to the next chapter of his life.<\/p>\n

Jesse Davis, who played with the Dolphins for six seasons from 2016 to 2021, made a similar decision on Monday.<\/p>\n

“After 10 years, I’m officially retiring from the NFL,” Davis said in\u00a0a post on his Instagram account<\/a>. “Thank you to all my coaches, teammates, fans\u00a0\u2013 and most importantly, my family. Without you guys, I wouldn’t have made it this far.<\/p>\n

“Thank you to all the organizations that gave me the opportunity to play the game I love. I’ve had an incredible ride that I’ll never forget. Now it’s time to be a full-time Dad and figure out my next chapter.”<\/p>\n

While with the Dolphins, he appeared in 80 games (including 72 starts). He was signed to the team’s practice squad late in the 2016 season and later inked a reserve\/future contract with the team for the following campaign. From that point onward, he would miss just one regular season contest and play\u00a0predominantly played at right guard, right tackle and left tackle.<\/p>\n

The only other seasons during which he participated in a regular season game came in 2022 (14 appearances with the\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>) and in 2023 (one appearance with the\u00a0San Francisco 49ers<\/a>). He also had offseason or practice squad stints with the\u00a0Seattle Seahawks<\/a>,\u00a0New York Jets<\/a>,\u00a0Minnesota Vikings<\/a> and\u00a0New Orleans Saints<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A native of Asotin, Washington, Davis originally went unselected in the 2015\u00a0NFL Draft<\/a> after playing college football at the University of Idaho.<\/p>\n
