Jordan Whittington was a rookie wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> last year, and after the incredible campaign Puka Nacua put together his rookie year, there was high expectations for Whittington. Now, as Whittington enters Year 2, is he about to take a major step forward? Or can we expect more of the same?<\/p>\n

This second year player is in line for a big-time promotion<\/a> (JB Scott)<\/p>\n

Whittington didn\u2019t light it up his rookie year like Nacua, but Nacua was an exception, not the rule, so I can\u2019t say Whittington had a disappointing first year because he made the roster and he had some moments. We\u2019ll see what Whittington and the Rams can make happen in 2025.<\/p>\n

Whitt seems poised entering Year 2 to work his way up as a rotational or starting player after Nacua, Davante Adams and Tutu Atwell. We\u2019ll see. Please comment on whatever you want, thanks for checking Turf Show Times and have a great day!<\/p>\n

A preseason standout in 2024, Whittington impressed in his three starts, when last year\u2019s sixth-round pick posted 6 catches for 62 yards, 7 for 89 and 3 for 86. His strong play continued during spring practices, when Puka Nacua was on an excused absence and Whittington took on a significant portion of the workload<\/a>, drawing praise from several coaches on a team now in need of a strong WR3.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Los Angeles Rams<\/a> have hit the summer break portion of the offseason after completing minicamp in Maui<\/a>. They\u2019ll reconvene at Loyola Marymount on July 22 when rookies and veterans report to training camp, eventually putting on the pads and really ramping things up after what Sean McVay calls the \u201cacclimation period\u201d early in camp.<\/p>\n

There are position battles all over the roster<\/a>, even if not for spots in the starting lineup. Players on the backend of the roster will be fighting for their jobs at cornerback, offensive line and wide receiver, among others.<\/p>\n

Rams Week One Opponent Faces Tough Question<\/a> (si.com)<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter finishing 21st in pass-blocking grade (65.3) and 25th in run-blocking grade (57.4) in 2024, the Texans<\/a> spent the offseason revamping their offensive line,\u201d wrote Cameron<\/a>. \u201cThe unit is expected to continue evolving throughout training camp, but early indications suggest Houston could feature four new starters, with Tytus Howard as the lone returning starter.\u201d<\/p>\n
