Manchester City chiefs will be \u201cpulling their hair out\u201d after sanctions have been revealed at the Etihad Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pep Guardiola<\/a>\u2019s side have been fined \u00a31.08million by the\u00a0Premier League<\/a>\u00a0for repeatedly kicking off or starting matches late last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nine of Man City\u2019s matches across the 2024-25 campaign were delayed at kick-off or half-time. <\/p>\n

The longest delay came in the second half of the Manchester derby in December, where the game restarted two minutes and 24 seconds later than scheduled. <\/p>\n

Man City were fined more than \u00a32million<\/a> last year for delaying 22 matches in the 2023-24 season. <\/p>\n

Former Man City<\/a> financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider it\u2019s \u201cvery strange\u201d for the incident to happen on so many occasions. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Man City are still waiting to hear the verdict in their 115 charges case<\/a>. <\/p>\n

An independent commission hearing into the case started in September last year and ended in December, with the panel currently considering its decision.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Borson insisted Man City are \u201csetting fire to cash\u201d following their latest sanctions for delaying matches. <\/p>\n

He told Football Insider: \u201cI think it\u2019s the sort of issue that the executive team and the finance team will be pulling their hair out at. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just setting fire to cash. There is going to be a difference of view between the footballing side and the business side. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe business side is going to be furious with it because it\u2019s just a complete waste, but the football side presumably there\u2019s some kind of reason why it keeps happening, whether deliberate or otherwise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI assume it is deliberate. City will say it isn\u2019t, but no other club seems to have this issue, so this is very strange for it to happen in so many games.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you look at the last fine versus this fine, they\u2019ll keep getting fined and the fines will get worse. <\/p>\n

\u201cSome of these fines now are \u00a3200,000 in a single game. It\u2019s just a total waste of money. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on there, but clearly City on the footballing side think that there\u2019s some purpose to it, and on the business side they\u2019ll be furious.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In terms of a potential incoming, Football Insider revealed on 15 June Man City hold an interest in signing Gianluigi Donnarumma<\/a> from PSG following uncertainty surrounding Ederson\u2019s future. <\/p>\n

The Italy international has just one year remaining on his contract, sparking interest from several top clubs, but PSG are doing everything they can to tie him down. <\/p>\n

Man City have been attempting to land a new goalkeeper amid speculation Ederson could be set for a move to the Saudi Pro League. <\/p>\n
