The <a href=\"http:\/\/nfl.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">National Football League<\/a> team has announced the creation of the Jets Flag Elite Girls Flag Football Club Travel Team.<\/p>\n<p>The newly-formed team will compete in the High School division for 5-on-5 Flag Football Tournaments at the local, regional and national levels.<\/p>\n<p>Ridgewood High School head coach Mickey McDermott has been name the head coach of the team. He\u2019s led Ridgewood to <a href=\"https:\/\/highschoolfootballamerica.com\/ridgewood-wins-back-to-back-north-new-jersey-high-school-girls-flag-football-championship\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">back-to-back New Jersey High School Flag Football Championships<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/highschoolfootballamerica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250315-JETS-Girls-Flag-Tryout-Full-Take-16-scaled.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250315-JETS-Girls-Flag-Tryout-Full-Take-16-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-111004\"  \/><\/a>Mickey McDermott, head coach of the Jets Flag Elite Girls Flag Football Club Travel Team. Photo from NY Jets<\/p>\n<p>Victoria Burgarella will serve as the team\u2019s assistant coach. Coach Burgarella is currently the head coach of the Xavierian High School flag football team.<\/p>\n<p>The team will feature top players from New Jersey and New York. Jets Flag Elite\u2019s mission is to support, elevate, and empower girls\u2019 flag football by giving these young athletes the opportunity to connect with the Jets team and experience football at a more professional level.<\/p>\n<p>The Jets are covering all costs including uniforms, equipment and tournament fees for the players. The only cost incurred will be transportation.
