RUSSELL Wilson’s job as New York Giants quarterback is apparently already under threat.<\/p>\n

Wilson, 36, signed a one-year deal <\/a>worth $10.5 million with the Giants <\/a>during free agency.<\/p>\n

The former Super Bowl<\/a> champion has bounced around teams since his spell with the Seattle Seahawks<\/a> from 2012 to 2021.<\/p>\n

He spent two years with the Denver Broncos<\/a> and one year with the Pittsburgh Steelers <\/a>before landing on the Giants this year.<\/p>\n

Wilson is expected to be the starting quarterback in the Big Apple.<\/p>\n

But the team apparently already has plans for first round NFL Draft<\/a> pick Jaxson Dart<\/a> to take over.<\/p>\n

“It is clear that this is Brian Daboll’s guy,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said of Dart. <\/p>\n

“After years and years of running out not his guy, he now gets his guy. <\/p>\n

“I expect Russell Wilson to take the first snap with the first team in the first game for the Giants.”<\/p>\n

“You listen to everything Brian Daboll says, you get an understanding of how far along Jaxson Dart is and where you think he’s going to go.<\/p>\n

“It’s clearly a matter of when, not if.”<\/p>\n

New York traded up to land Dart with the 25th pick in April’s NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

He was the second quarterback taken off the board behind Tennessee Titans<\/a> star Cam Ward.<\/p>\n

They also have veteran Jameis Winston on the roster to complete their quarterback room.<\/p>\n

But the former No.1 overall pick is not expected to stand in Dart’s way of taking the starting job.<\/p>\n

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah identified a window where Dart could take over from Wilson.<\/p>\n

The Giants are not on bye until week 14 this season.<\/p>\n

But they have a small gap in their schedule in mid-October.<\/p>\n

And Jeremiah said, “Look at that Week 6-to-Week 7, 10-day gap there after the Thursday night game against Philly.<\/p>\n

“Which by the way, with that group in Philadelphia, I’d be okay with him missing that game.<\/p>\n

“But that’s kind of where it would be. It would at Denver in Week 7.<\/p>\n
