Looks like we won\u2019t have Aaron Rodgers<\/a> to kick around much longer.<\/p>\n

The four-time league MVP said Tuesday on \u201cThe Pat McAfee Show\u201d that he\u2019s \u201cpretty sure\u201d<\/a> the upcoming NFL season \u2014 his first as quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers and 21st overall \u2014 will be his last.<\/p>\n

And after that, Rodgers said, he won\u2019t be seen or heard from ever again.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen this is all done, it\u2019s Keyser S\u00f6ze. You won\u2019t see me,\u201d Rodgers said<\/a>, referring to the elusive villain in \u201cThe Usual Suspects<\/a>.\u201d \u201cI won\u2019t be in the public. I don\u2019t want to live a public life. … I\u2019m not going to be in the public eye. When this is done, I\u2019m done, and you won\u2019t see me. And I\u2019m looking forward to that.\u201d<\/p>\n

It might seem a tad difficult to imagine Rodgers willingly disappearing from public consciousness for any significant period of time. In addition to being one of the all-time greats<\/a> at quarterback, Rodgers has kept a pretty high profile in popular culture over the last two decades. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s been in countless commercials<\/a>. He filled in as host of \u201cJeopardy.\u201d<\/a> He made the short list of possible running mates<\/a> during Robert Kennedy Jr.<\/a>\u2019s presidential bid (that spot ultimately went to Nicole Shanahan<\/a>). He was in romantic relationships with such famous women as Olivia Munn<\/a>, Danica Patrick<\/a> and Shailene Woodley<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Rodgers also has become known for his sometimes controversial opinions<\/a> that he has been more than willing to share during his regular appearances on McAfee\u2019s show<\/a> and other platforms.<\/p>\n

But, Rodgers insisted Tuesday, \u201cI don\u2019t want the attention,\u201d although he acknowledged, \u201cI know that\u2019s a narrative out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

After 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers and two with the New York Jets, Rodgers signed a one-year deal with the Steelers as a free agent this summer. At minicamp this month, the Super Bowl XLV MVP told reporters that he had recently gotten married. He has not publicly revealed his wife\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Rodgers spoke for nearly four minutes about perceived invasions of his and his wife\u2019s privacy. He accused paparazzi of \u201cstalking\u201d the two of them and asserted that unnamed media outlets had been either publishing sensitive information about the couple or just making things up about them. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhat happened to common decency about security and a personal life that we now have to dive into your details of where you live and what you\u2019re doing and who you\u2019re with and who your wife is and if you even have a wife,\u201d Rodgers said. \u201cBecause my wife is a private person, doesn\u2019t have social media, hasn\u2019t been a public person, doesn\u2019t want to be a public person. But now that somehow is a weird thing?\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cMy private life is my private life, and it\u2019s going to stay that way. And I\u2019m with somebody who wants to be private, and if and when she wants to be out, and there\u2019s a picture, she\u2019ll choose that. And she deserves the right to that. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut the entitlement to information about my private life is so … ridiculous and embarrassing. Like, hey, do what you got to do. But just try and leave me out of a conversation, Sports World, for a month. Try and just leave me out, my personal life, my professional life.
