The Seahawks continued towards their goal of impacting 50 different communities throughout 2025 Seahawks season with a cleat donation of 120 cleats for Cle Elum-Roslyn High School.<\/p>\n
The head football coach at Cle Elum-Roslyn High School, Mike Cameron said, “The kids are so excited about the cleats. I think it’s great to have all the same cleats to hand out and helps promote teamwork. A lot of kids can’t afford cleats like that so it’s going to go a long way.”<\/p>\n
Along with the cleats, Cle Elum-Roslyn was awarded a $25,000 grant from Nourishing Champions, which is a collaboration between Safeway and Champions of Change that realizes access to proper nutrition is important to student athletes’ ability to play. Champions of Change is also the non-profit founded by Seahawks Legends Doug Baldwin, Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril.<\/p>\n
Throughout the 2025-26 school year, Nourishing Champions has awarded $500,000 to high schools throughout Washington.<\/p>\n
Cameron said, “The Nourishing Champions grant is going to be huge for the school and school district. I was shocked when I saw that check. I about fell off the stage. I know what it takes as a group for us to raise those funds so for someone to just hand us a check like that is extremely impactful.”<\/p>\n
Adding, “We’re in Central Washington, not in the Seahawks backyard, so to have everyone involved from the Seahawks means a lot and goes a really long way with the kids. It gives them excitement, confidence and that willingness to step up.”<\/p>\n
