There may have been a few dry eyes in the house as the late Hall of Fame owner of the New York Football Giants, Wellington Mara, presented Lawrence Taylor with his 56 jersey on Oct. 10, 1994, when it was retired at halftime of a Monday night game against the Vikings.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess I should be nervous, but I\u2019m not because this is my house,\u201d LT said, and the roar of the crowd wouldn\u2019t stop accompanying his heartfelt emotions. \u201cThis is one of the three proudest moments I\u2019ve ever had here. The first came in 1981 when we beat Dallas to go to the playoff for the first time in 20 years. The second was in 1987 when we beat the Redskins to go to the Super Bowl, and the third is tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maybe, if he is the game-wrecker of a player the Giants believe he is, first-round draft choice Abdul Carter<\/a> can have himself a forever night like this.<\/p>\n
