Ole Miss and UConn have mutually agreed to cancel their home-and-home series starting in 2027.<\/p>\n

The Huskies announced the news in a release on Thursday<\/a>. Sources indicate the Rebels were looking to get out of the series as well as they try to best fill out future schedules of an every-year College Football Playoff contender.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ole Miss was originally scheduled to head to Connecticut on September 11, 2027. The Huskies were going to follow with a trip to Oxford on November 18, 2028. They\u2019ve already substituted Duke for the Rebels, while Ole Miss is considering multiple options but hasn\u2019t settled on a replacement yet.<\/p>\n

Ole Miss now has two scheduled non-conference opponents in 2027 (Charlotte and Oregon State) and two in 2028 (South Alabama and Alcorn State). The Rebels last season won 10 games for the third in four years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They\u2019re receiving the ninth-best odds to reach the College Football Playoff in 2025-26. They have the eighth-best odds to win the national championship.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure they\u2019re falling off,\u201d\u00a0On3 national analyst Andy Staples said Tuesday<\/a>. \u201cIf we look at their transfer portal class, Ole Miss got a lot of the dudes that a lot of people wanted in the portal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cLuke Hasz, the tight end from Arkansas, was one we thought would be a difference-maker. They got De\u2019Zhaun Stribling, who was Oklahoma State\u2019s best receiver last year [and] Kewan Lacy, the running back from Missouri. They got Princely\u2019s brother, Princewill (Umanmielen), who came from Nebraska.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve assumed Ole Miss drops off here. I don\u2019t know if we should assume that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ESPN FPI gives Ole Miss 30.7 percent odds to make the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Kickoff times for next season have already been released<\/a>. The Rebels open against Georgia State on August 30 at 6:45 p.m.\u00a0SEC Network has the broadcast, as it does for at least four other games.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ABC is carrying Ole Miss\u2019 revenge effort at Kentucky on September 6 at 2:30 p.m. CT. Arkansas in Oxford will be at either 6 p.m. CT or 6:45 p.m. CT on ESPN or the SEC Network. Ole Miss hosts Tulane on September 20 in either the afternoon (2:30-3:30 p.m.) or night (5-7 p.m.). The annual Magnolia Bowl against LSU (September 27) will take place in the flex window (2:30-3:30 p.m. or 5-7 p.m). However, it\u2019s TBA as far as TV.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The bye week is followed by the first-ever game against Washington State (October 11) at 11:45 a.m. on SEC Network.\u00a0Ole Miss at Georgia (October 18) is in the flex window (2:30-3:30 p.m. or 5-7 p.m.).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ole Miss is at Oklahoma on October 25.\u00a0The Rebels\u2019 first-ever trip to Norman will kick off early (11 a.m.\/Noon). South Carolina comes to town November 1 in the flex window (2:30-3:30 p.m. OR 5-7 p.m). The Rebels welcome The Citadel November 8 on ESPN+\/SECN+.<\/p>\n

Florida rolls into Oxford for just the third time in 20 years on November 15 and in the flex window (2:30-3:30 p.m. or 5-7 p.m.). The Gators upset the Rebels in the Swamp last fall, costing Ole Miss a CFP berth.<\/p>\n

Ole Miss wraps the 2025-26 regular season \u2014 as the Rebels always do \u2014 with in-state rival Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.
