KIRKSVILLE, Mo, \u2014 Some northeast Missouri football players and the American Red Cross teamed up on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Kirksville football team hosted its third annual Tiger Football\/Red Cross Blood Drive with football players and other volunteers in the school cafeteria.<\/p>\n
Players volunteered to host the event, and some of them even donated blood themselves.<\/p>\n
The goal was to bring in 85 people to donate blood.<\/p>\n
The players told us they just wanted to give back to the community that supports them on gameday.<\/p>\n
“It’s just part of giving back [and] showing up and being there for your community, your team, and being available,” said Kirksville Senior Football Player Bennett Fraser. “It’s always good to have extra volunteer hours and just be able to put yourself out there.””I donated here because it’s our city, our town, it’s just good to give back and help out the community,” said Kirksville Senior Football Player Gunner Mauzy.<\/p>\n
