Texas A&M football secured two five-star recruits from the class of 2026, Tristian Givens and Brandon Arrington. Now, the Aggies have an\u00a0opportunity to land a third. One of their targets recently bumped up from a four-star to a five-star on ESPN 300 rankings.<\/p>\n

Jireh Edwards, a safety out of Upper Marlboro, Md., moved into five-star territory on ESPN 300 rankings. He’s now listed as the No. 24 recruit. On\u00a0247Sports Composite rankings<\/a>, he’s ranked No. 23 overall, No. 2 out of safeties in the country, and No. 3 out of his state.<\/p>\n

ESPN’s Craig Haubert and Tom Luginbill\u00a0wrote<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“He blends elite size with outstanding speed, consistently posting 4.5 40-yard dash times that translate to the field. He’s also a physical presence against the run. All those attributes result in an extremely versatile safety who can cover ground, match up in coverage and come downhill as a factor in the box.<\/p>\n

“Edwards should get the most of his rare on-field physical tools. He’s a focused, competitive teammate and his leadership over the past two years in high school stands out.”<\/p>\n

At the moment, a bunch of schools are in the running: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Oregon, and Texas A&M. Crystal Ball\u00ae Predictions have Edwards going to Georgia unanimously, but as the Aggies know after losing out on an offensive tackle on Thursday, unanimous predictions can always be flipped.<\/p>\n

Quarterback recruit Helaman Casuga also received a better rating, ranking No. 296 on ESPN 300. Casuga recently participated at the Elite 11 Finals and showcased his talents despite having been injured for a majority of last season.<\/p>\n

“Most notably, his accuracy and instincts on timing routes were as good as any. He must continue to refine his body and manage his weight, but Casuga has a competitive temperament,” Haubert and Luginbill wrote.<\/p>\n

The Aggies will find out if they’ll land the highly-touted class of 2026 recruit Edwards on July 5.<\/p>\n
