Discussion around the Heisman Trophy winner for the upcoming season is always a major topic of conversation amongst college football fans.<\/p>\n
The names thrown out this year among the favorites are Texas<\/a> quarterback Arch Manning<\/a>, Clemson<\/a> quarterback Cade Klubnik<\/a>, LSU<\/a> quarterback Garrett Nussmeier<\/a> and Ohio State<\/a> wide receiver Jeremiah Smith<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSee Ball Get Ball with David Pollack<\/a>\u201d host David Pollack<\/a> (formerly of ESPN) however sees great value in two other quarterbacks.<\/p>\n \u201cBy far, the best odds on the board to me is [Arizona State<\/a> quarterback] Sam Leavitt<\/a>,\u201d Pollack said. \u201cGive me Leavitt. I think he\u2019s +2500. I\u2019m not putting him below three as best quarterbacks in college football. He plays the most important position, I think they\u2019re gonna be in the College Football Playoff hunt, I think they\u2019re gonna be a highly ranked team for the season and they\u2019re gonna put up silly numbers.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s gonna run it and he\u2019s gonna throw it. I think that\u2019s really, really good odds man. He didn\u2019t stay healthy a year ago and it cost him some missing some time, but those odds stood out as like \u2018give me that right now.\u2019 I want them right now.\u201d<\/p>\n After transferring from Michigan State<\/a> prior to last season, Leavitt led the Sun Devils to their first ever appearance in the College Football Playoff. He threw for 2,885 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions and returns his leading receiver Jordyn Tyson<\/a> this season.<\/p>\n Along with Leavitt, Pollack sees great value in Oregon<\/a> quarterback Dante Moore<\/a>, who is entering his first season as the starting quarterback in Eugene.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll give you one other, because I don\u2019t know if he\u2019s gonna be here but I\u2019ll mention him,\u201d Pollack said. \u201cDante Moore. A transfer from UCLA<\/a>. He\u2019s at Oregon now and he\u2019s the quarterback. If you\u2019re watching Will Stein<\/a> and you\u2019re watching Dan Lanning<\/a> and you\u2019re watching Oregon, they\u2019re not getting worse. Their trajectory is continuing to climb and they\u2019re gonna be great. They\u2019re gonna be in the hunt. You think Bo Nix<\/a> was in the hunt? Yes. Was [Dillon Gabriel<\/a>] in the hunt? Yes. He was a finalist. If I\u2019m looking for value outside of the top guys, Oregon quarterbacks have had success.\u201d<\/p>\n In his one season as a starter at UCLA (2023), Moore passed for 1,610 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He transferred to Oregon last season, but sat behind Dillon Gabriel.
