{"id":171804,"date":"2025-07-01T01:55:18","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T01:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/171804\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T01:55:18","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T01:55:18","slug":"richard-sherman-pleads-not-guilty-to-dui-charge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/171804\/","title":{"rendered":"Richard Sherman pleads not guilty to DUI charge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Retired Seattle Seahawks all-star cornerback Richard Sherman pleaded not guilty to <a href=\"https:\/\/mynorthwest.com\/crime_blotter\/richard-sherman-charged-with-dui\/4100656\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">a DUI charge<\/a> this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Sherman was pulled over on I-405 in Renton in February of last year.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers said Sherman was driving 79 mph in a 60 mph zone. They allege Sherman was swerving, and once they pulled him over, they said his eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred, and they could smell alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>The charges come more than a year after he was arrested because prosecutors were waiting for blood-alcohol test reports to be completed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reason why prosecutors waited to file this charge was because we wanted to have the toxicology report back from the State Patrol Crime Lab before making the charging decision.
