This former Indianapolis Colts defender was among Cam Bynum’s favorite players to watch when he was growing up.<\/p>\n
#Colts<\/a> safety Camryn Bynum said he and his brother loved watching Bob Sanders growing up. He recalled his earliest memories of The Hitman with @JJStankevitz<\/a> on the Colts Show Pod:<\/p>\n \u201cHe used to just kill people\u2026 he was fearless out there.\u201d pic.twitter.com\/Cox0edZG5T<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Noah Compton (@nerlens_) June 26, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n Current Indianapolis Colts’<\/a> safety Cam Bynum was a big fan of watching former Colts<\/a>‘ safety Bob Sanders when he was growing up.<\/p>\n Appearing on the ‘Colts Show’ podcast <\/a>with JJ Stankevitz during media day, Bynum discussed how it was Sanders’ play style that made him a fan of his game.<\/p>\n \u201cHe used to just kill people,” Bynum said. “He was smaller. He was that guy that’s just always flying around, just hitting people no matter how big they were. So he was just fearless out there.”<\/p>\n Sanders was a second-round pick by the Colts in the 2004 NFL draft and would play seven of his eight NFL seasons in Indianapolis. During that span, Sanders was a two-time Pro Bowler, a two-time first-team All-Pro, and the Defensive Player of the Year<\/a> in 2007.<\/p>\n Sanders made 46 starts with the Colts, logging six interceptions, 16 pass deflections, and totaling 295 tackles, while also earning the nickname ‘The Hitman.’<\/p>\n “Another thing is he\u2019d always hit people\u2019s legs and make them flip,” added Bynum. “As a kid, that\u2019s like a cartoon, like a football movie. You\u2019re watching ‘The Little Giants’ and you see all of the big hits and everything, and that\u2019s what he made happen in real life. So that was the first thing that was attractive about his game was the way that he used to just hit people.”<\/p>\n
