The NFL Draft starts on Thursday and Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes thinks his roster is in a great spot heading into the weekend where he can trust his board and add young, talented players to mix.<\/p>\n
Free agency filled some key holes, and now comes the task of acquiring young talent via the draft that can hopefully make an immediate impact and be a core piece for the future.<\/p>\n
“You’re always trying to figure out what we’re going to do,” Holmes said last week in his pre-draft press conference. “When you go to a movie, you’ve never seen the movie, that’s the excitement. So, you’re fine just watching the movie. I don’t understand why people can’t just watch the draft. It’s like, ‘Alright, I don’t know what’s going to happen?’ So, watch the draft and get your popcorn ready and enjoy the draft.”<\/p>\n
