Matt Miller ordered the draft based on ESPN’s Football Power Index, which landed the Rams at No. 9 (from the Falcons) and 27 overall in the first round.

With their first pick, Miller has them selecting Alabama tackle Kadyn Proctor, a massive 6-foot-7, 370-pound prospect who can move anyone and everyone on the line of scrimmage. He’s a viable replacement for Rob Havenstein next year but Miller does have some questions about his effort and consistency.

With two first-rounders in the 2026 draft, the Rams have plenty of flexibility. Proctor would already be one of the NFL’s strongest players upon entering the league, as the 6-foot-7, 370-pounder plays with physicality and a mean streak that is impossible for defenders to handle when he’s locked in. But Proctor isn’t always on his A-game and can run hot-and-cold. The Rams are looking for an heir apparent to Rob Havenstein at right tackle and Proctor has more potential than any lineman in this class … if he can improve his consistency.

The 27th pick is the one Rams fans will be especially interested in. Miller projects the Rams to take Penn State quarterback Drew Allar at that spot, finally giving Los Angeles the franchise quarterback it needs for the post-Matthew Stafford era.

That’s a bit later than some believe Allar will wind up going, but the Rams would be happy to secure such a talented passer that late in the first round.

With Matthew Stafford entering his age-37 season, this would be a good spot for the Rams to pick his eventual successor. Allar is a big-armed quarterback with good mobility for his size (6-foot-5, 238 pounds), but he hasn’t quite put it all together. He has the arm to make any throw and can escape crowded pockets but goes through cold stretches where his decision-making and accuracy drop off. His development in 2024, in which he increased his completion percentage from 59.9% to 66.5%, is encouraging and suggests that more improvement is on the way.

Allar had a chance to enter the 2025 draft but opted to stay in school, forgoing the opportunity to be a potential first-round pick. He boasts a good combination of arm talent and mobility, but he does need to improve his accuracy.

The Rams’ biggest questions in 2026 will likely be on offense and adding a combination of Proctor and Allar will set them up well for the foreseeable future.

Follow Rams Wire on X, Facebook and Threads for more coverage!

After adding a cornerstone tackle, the Rams select Drew Allar near the end of Round 1 The Los…

[2079
247,265,240,223,254,19,12,388,224,7,6820,20842,379,147,239,1014,58,2444,2611,3310,32,248,267,88,6,15,35196,1640,245,537,1639,1644,530,424,6819,6821,9,266,3177,376
0":"post-177275","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles-rams","8":"tag-american","9":"tag-american-football","10":"tag-angeles","11":"tag-atlanta","12":"tag-atlanta-falcons","13":"tag-draft","14":"tag-espn","15":"tag-espn-inc","16":"tag-falcons","17":"tag-football","18":"tag-havenstein","19":"tag-hub","20":"tag-inc","21":"tag-lions","22":"tag-los","23":"tag-los-angeles","24":"tag-los-angeles-rams","25":"tag-losangeles","26":"tag-losangelesrams","27":"tag-matthew","28":"tag-matthew-stafford","29":"tag-national","30":"tag-national-sports","31":"tag-news","32":"tag-nfl","33":"tag-nfl-draft","34":"tag-nfl-hub","35":"tag-nittany","36":"tag-overall","37":"tag-overall-positive","38":"tag-penn","39":"tag-penn-state-nittany-lions-football","40":"tag-positive","41":"tag-rams","42":"tag-rob","43":"tag-rob-havenstein","44":"tag-sports","45":"tag-sports-news","46":"tag-stafford","47":"tag-state
["GET
