Despite ending the 2024 campaign with a Super Bowl win, trade candidate Jordan Davis could be on the hot seat as he will probably play his final season with the Philadelphia Eagles. According to one report<\/a>, there\u2019s reason to believe that Davis could be a possible trade candidate during the 2025 regular season, as he hasn\u2019t been able to live up to expectations since joining the Eagles in 2022. Originally selected as a first-round pick, the former Georgia product has been anything but special the past three seasons after recording just 27 tackles, one sack, two pass deflections and one fumble recovery. It\u2019s hard to imagine what type of future Davis has in Philadelphia, but being that there is some rookie talent coming in for the team, they could trade Davis either way.<\/p>\n

The Eagles haven\u2019t been afraid to be sellers in the trade market during this offseason. After trading C.J. Gardner-Johnson<\/a> and letting Darius Slay walk in free agency, it wouldn\u2019t be the most surprising move for the Eagles to send Davis to a new team. He has a cap hit of $12.9 million, so that could make him a possible trade piece to ship off if the team wants to recoup some of that money to invest elsewhere or draft younger talent alongside Jalen Carter<\/a>. The Eagles have won the Lombardi Trophy two in less than one decade, so no one should put it past them if they want to rebuild.<\/p>\n

\nLos Angeles Chargers<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles Chargers were looking like a promising roster last season, but fell apart during the wild-card round. They must improve the trenches unit if the team truly wants to win football games with an old-school physical defense. The team lost Morgan Fox<\/a> and Poona Ford on the defensive line, so they will lean on Teair Tart and free agent signee Da\u2019Shawn Hand.<\/a> Davis might not be the best player on defense, but he has the championship experience and could add some upside to relieve the stress off of Tart.<\/p>\n

Baltimore Ravens<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens always make it just an inch closer to a Super Bowl appearance, led by quarterback Lamar Jackson. They must find a way to win defensively when it counts, and following Michael Pierce\u2019s retirement, it will become harder for Nnamdi Madubuike<\/a> to adjust alongside Broderick Washington and Travis Jones, who have done nothing spectacular. Despite signing John Jenkins<\/a> for temporary relief, the Ravens are better off with Davis to provide that stability with Madubuike.<\/p>\n

New Orleans Saints<\/p>\n

The New Orleans Saints aren\u2019t serious contenders, but they need all the help they can get defensively since they will probably have one of the worst offenses minus Alvin Kamara in a long time. Following Derek Carr\u2019s retirement, it will come down to Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough to prove it they can stretch the field, and after trading for Davon Godchaux this offseason, the Saints could use some more fiery power along the line. Cameron Jordan is aging, and even though they\u2019re getting Chase Young<\/a> for another season, they could use Davis as a low-risk security investment as another capable body to stop the opposing offense.<\/p>\n

Carolina Panthers<\/p>\n

Much like the Saints, the Carolina Panthers aren\u2019t making it to the wild-card next year. However, they are finally building a hopeful, promising defense that could help quarterback Bryce Young get more opportunities on the field. Between Derrick Brown, Tershawn Wharton<\/a> and Bobby Brown, the Panthers could use a little more depth in the trenches.
