Just over a year ago, Detroit Lions<\/a> general manager Brad Holmes made the aggressive move to jump five spots in the first round to grab cornerback Terrion Arnold. With a huge run of offensive players early in the draft, Holmes believed they were getting tremendous value in Arnold that late in the first round\u2014setting up pretty high expectations for the former Crimson Tide defender. <\/p>\n

Arnold\u2019s rookie season had its ups and downs, but he enters his second season with a load of expectation. With a new teammate opposite him\u2014free agent acquisition D.J. Reed\u2014it will be on Arnold to help lead the cornerback room as the other presumed starter. Needless to say, the Lions coaching staff is hopeful for his development. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe grabbed me right now. We were in the office watching tape just now. He is trying to be the best player he can be,\u201d defensive backs coach Deshea Townsend said this offseason. \u201cThat\u2019s what it takes. You have to work on your craft.\u201d <\/p>\n
