When Aaron Rodgers<\/a> said he was going to take his time in deciding what\u2019s next for his future, he meant it.<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old remains a free agent. And while he\u2019s been connected to a few teams throughout the offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers <\/a>appeared to be the favorite to land the four-time NFL MVP.<\/p>\n

But there\u2019s been no movement on a contract, and Rodgers revealed during an appearance on \u201cThe Pat McAfee Show\u201d where things stand regarding what\u2019s next.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not holding anyone hostage and have been upfront with every team,\u201d Rodgers said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo make a commitment to a team is a big thing. I\u2019m open to anything and attached to nothing,\u201d Rodgers said. \u201cSo yeah, retirement still could be a possibility. But right now my focus has been and will continue to be on my personal life.\u201d <\/p>\n

Rodgers added that the delay in making a decision about whether to play or retire stems from personal things going on his life that need his attention more than football. The teams he was in contact with, including the Steelers, are aware that Rodgers isn\u2019t ready to make a decision. <\/p>\n

A recent report suggested the Steelers<\/a> \u2014 who lost both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson in the offseason \u2014 were left in the dark<\/a> when it came to Rodgers\u2019 decision. <\/p>\n

But that claim was debunked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been completely honest with teams from the jump. I having been stringing anyone along,\u201d Rodgers said. \u201cI have obligations in my personal life that I\u2019ve told each teams from the start \u201c<\/p>\n

The veteran quarterback said he\u2019d play for $10 million and never told teams he wanted a multi-year deal. But he\u2019s still in no rush to decide what he wants to do.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t felt like I owed anybody a decision,\u201d Rodgers said. \u201cThere\u2019s been no deadline.\u201d<\/p>\n
