The Cleveland Browns have most of their energy focused on the quarterback position this offseason, and rightfully so.<\/p>\n

But other areas of the roster need a little bit of attention.<\/p>\n

The wide receiver room is not one of great depth this offseason, especially since the departure of Amari Cooper via trade to Buffalo last year.<\/p>\n

While there have been tampered rumors of Cooper’s return, someone will have to step up next year, especially with the recent struggles of the quarterback position.<\/p>\n

There might be hope on the horizon.<\/p>\n

Wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea offered an update on the progress of second-year wideout Jamari Thrash. As a rookie, he appeared in just nine games last year and caught only three balls for 22 yards and no touchdowns.<\/p>\n

But he has shown improvement this offseason, per O’Shea.<\/p>\n

“Jamari has had a great offseason, and it started with what he did prior to coming back for us in our formal practices,” O’Shea told reporters last month. “He worked extremely hard in some of the things and areas we asked him to work in, and I think that has set him up for a lot of success this spring.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been very pleased with not only his work ethic, but most importantly, his play on the field has been outstanding. And I think that’s because he’s embraced the things he needs to improve on moving forward and I know he’s a player that we have just been pleased with his production on the field.”<\/p>\n

ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi revealed that Thrash has made progress this offseason, too.<\/p>\n

“A 2024 fifth-round pick who caught three passes as a rookie, Thrash took advantage of opportunities in an unproven receiver room and established himself as a reliable option for all the Browns’ quarterbacks,” Oyefusi wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For what it’s worth, there will be plenty of opportunities for Thrash, or someone else, to show up big next season for the Browns and make a name for himself.<\/p>\n
