The NFL offseason is entering its final stretch, where most of what can be done by teams has been, and now is the time to look back on it all.<\/p>\n

NFL insider Albert Breer discussed<\/a> one takeaway from every team’s offseason, and when it came time to talk about the Vikings<\/a>, he had some positive words for the work of general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. The newly extended front office leader of the Vikings built a roster for their new starter, J.J. McCarthy that not many other quarterbacks have had the pleasure of coming into.<\/p>\n

Breer writes, “For all the noise around J.J. McCarthy, the Vikings have built a tremendous, quarterback-friendly roster that\u2019ll put him in position to win from the outset. Pressure comes with that, too, of course, but if you\u2019re constantly in second-and-manageable and third-and-short, and your defense is one of football\u2019s most challenging to go against, the trade-off is probably worth it. And while last fall was rocky for McCarthy, the quarterback has rebounded this offseason. I think he\u2019ll be good.”<\/p>\n

For as much as the talk was last offseason that Caleb Williams was set up for success by the Bears<\/a>, this is what an ideal scenario for a first-time starter looks like.<\/p>\n

Skill players, a veteran head coach, an offensive-minded one at that, and an offensive line that is as good as any in the league. J.J.
