The Vikings<\/a>‘ offense was one of the best in the NFL last season, and they are poised to have one again in 2025. They are rolling out a new quarterback in J.J. McCarthy, but the offense is being constructed to be effective and efficient all at the same time.<\/p>\n

One of the moves that Kwesi Adofo-Mensah made this offseason was trading for 49ers running back Jordan Mason. He stepped up for All-Pro Christian McCaffrey when he went down with injury and accumulated an impressive 789 yards on the ground.<\/p>\n

Because of that, the Vikings’ run game is ready to be the straw that stirs the Vikings’ offense once again. That also makes, as The Athletic’s Alec Lewis puts it<\/a>, Mason the most “underrated Vikings move of the offseason.”<\/p>\n

He explains it, writing, “For my money, this is the\u00a0most underrated Vikings move of the offseason. He benefited from the San Francisco 49ers<\/a>\u2019 run-game infrastructure, but there is something about his vision that seems different. Plus, he\u2019s massive.”<\/p>\n

The one-two punch of Aaron Jones and Mason will likely keep defenses on their heels in a way that a Vikings run game has not done arguably since the days of Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor. Will the production be the same? No, but the effect could be.<\/p>\n

Fans will want to see a lot of J.J.
