Former Super Bowl Champion wants to return to the Giants, and it’s all about hitting one absurd milestone in his career<\/a> originally appeared on A to Z Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One hundred career sacks is considered to be an elite milestone for NFL pass rushers. Former New York Giants standout Jason Pierre-Paul<\/a> is close. He currently owns 94.5 career sacks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As he recently told ESPN, he’d love to get to that triple digit mark and the chance to secure the milestone with his former team would add a little bit of extra sweetness to the occasion. The challenge, of course, is that player signings are two-way streets. Pierre-Paul hasn’t logged a sack since 2022 and it’s been since 2021 that he’s logged the combined number of sacks that he currently needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But that isn’t stopping Pierre-Paul from daydreaming about a fairy tale ending to his long, accomplished, and inspiring NFL career.<\/p>\n

Jason Pierre-Paul has his eyes set on 100 sacks \u2014 and the Giants<\/p>\n

“I think (re-joining the Giants) would be be dope. Tremendous…To go back somewhere where my career started … the fans know me and know the type of player that I am. I’ll always be that type of player and just give ’em everything I got, which I know it’ll be more than enough.”<\/p>\n

As far as the Giants’ potential interest? Things would have to likely go very wrong in some fashion for New York’s edge rush room in 2025 for Pierre-Paul to get a call, never mind log the five and a half sacks he needs to reach 100 for his career.\u00a0<\/p>\n

New York’s edge room should be considered one of the strengths of the program \u2014 thanks in large part to newcomer Abdul Carter<\/a> at the top of their 2025 NFL Draft class to join Brian Burns, former top-10 overall draft choice Kayvon Thibodeaux<\/a> and veteran Chauncey Golston. Golston has the ability to reduce and rush inside, but with a heavyweight top three pass rushers on the depth chart, it’s hard to imagine the interest of Pierre-Paul being reciprocal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Instead, Giants fans should hope to see him get the call and a chance to play elsewhere to get the sacks he needs for triple digits. That is, of course, so long as those five and a half sacks aren’t coming against New York this fall.<\/p>\n
