The Mill City Eagles football team is off to a 2-1 start this season.<\/p>\n
Saturday, the Eagles got back in the win column with a 32-20 win over the Boston Bandits, behind quarterback Calvin Bou\u00addreau\u2019s four touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown.<\/p>\n
Tight end Bryan Warren had three scoring receptions and wideout Ryan Walker added a touchdown reception.<\/p>\n
The defense combined for three Interceptions on the night, one each by Mike Bethune, Randy Del\u00adva and Mike Melanson.<\/p>\n
Mill City is off this weekend and then hosts the Middleboro Cobras at home on July 12.<\/p>\n
Nick Zullo of Tewksbury is a member of the Eagles as are Wilmington residents Joshiah Martinez and Johnathan Martinez. Liam Fitzgerald of Bur\u00adlington, who played football at Shawsheen Tech, is also on the squad.<\/p>\n
The Eagles opened the season with a 42-16 win over the Granite State Destroyers.<\/p>\n
Mill City scored the first 21 points of the night to put this one away early.<\/p>\n
Tyler Fontes started with a 1-yard touchdown run and kicker Zack Cook ad\u00added the extra point.<\/p>\n
Florey Kabulo recovered a fumble to set up the second touchdown, an 8-yard run by Boudreau. Boudreau found Warren with the 2-point conversion pass to make it 15-0.<\/p>\n
Defense created the third touchdown when Angel Paulino forced a fumble and recovered it, setting up Boudreau\u2019s 28-yard sco\u00adring pass to Bethune.<\/p>\n
Granite State scored back-to-back touchdowns to make it 21-14, but Bou\u00addreau\u2019s 1-yard scoring run late in the second quarter made it 28-14 at halftime.<\/p>\n
The Eagles added two more touchdowns in the third quarter.<\/p>\n
After Christian Perkins recovered a fumble caused by Brandon Santell and Tristan Cahill, Boudreau found the end zone again with a 2-yard run. Cook\u2019s extra point pushed the lead to 35-14.<\/p>\n
An interception by Be\u00adthune set up the final score, an 18-yard pass from Boudreau to Princ\u00adwell Iwejuo.<\/p>\n
In Game 2 against the Glens Falls Greenjackets, Mill City lost 14-0.<\/p>\n
The Eagles still had plen\u00adty of highlights.<\/p>\n
Kabulo forced another fumble that was recover\u00aded by EJ Ughu.<\/p>\n
Bethune had 17 carries for 74 yards and one re\u00adception for 8 yards.<\/p>\n
