Now that the dust has settled on the NFL Draft and we haven’t discussed Shedeur Sanders’ historic slide in a while, everyone involved is intent on focusing on the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are focused on the quarterback battle involving Sanders.<\/p>\n

Many have criticized Shedeur’s Hall of Fame father, Deion, and his involvement in the pre-draft process with regard to Shedeur.<\/p>\n

Now, Deshaun Watson’s personal quarterback coach is getting in on the opinion game as he appeared on the Maggie and Perloff show recently<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy forecast is that at some point this year, it\u2019s going to get really, really difficult and Deion Sanders is going to have to make a real decision,\u201d Avery said<\/a>. \u201cWas he doing this the whole time to prop his son up and help him become this top-tier quarterback \u2014 which he did help him do? Or does he want to do this because he really cares about the kids?\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this offseason, Colin Cowherd likened Deion to a “Pageant Mom.”<\/p>\n

\u201cSpend too much time in the sun and get burned,\u201d Cowherd said<\/a>. \u201cDeion was in the sun. Deion spent too much time on television, talking. … But I have said this over and over, and I will repeat it. Dads, stop talking. Nobody cares. Quarterback Dad has become Pageant Mom. Your heart is in the right place, you have good intent; you are hurting your sons.”<\/p>\n

While the quarterback battle will pick back up at training camp, there has been speculation that Watson could be ready to return to the field late in the 2025 season after he recovers from a torn Achilles suffered in October, then again in January.<\/p>\n
