When the Minnesota Vikings lost left offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw to a season-ending knee injury on Oct. 24, the NFL team traded<\/a> for Cam Robinson<\/a> and immediately plugged him into the spot vacated by Darrishaw.<\/p>\n

Robinson has had to make a quick transition.<\/p>\n

\u201cLife in Minnesota\u2019s cold this time of year,\u201d said Robinson<\/a>, a native of Louisiana who played at Alabama<\/a> before spending eight seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, \u201cbut I\u2019ve been adjusting.\u201d <\/p>\n

On the field, Robinson stepped into the starting lineup after practicing twice<\/a> with the Vikings, and he\u2019s started his six games with the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, it couldn\u2019t take long,\u201d Robinson said<\/a>. \u201cI couldn\u2019t allow for it to take too long. I kind of had to hit the ground running and just be a sponge and kind of just soak up as much as I could as fast as I could. I really didn\u2019t have had time to think about any of that. \u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cThe transition has been seamless. I\u2019ve just kind of got to thank the guys in the room and the coaching staff. The coaches poured into me since I got here and just been making sure I\u2019m prepared as best as I can be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Minnesota has won all its games since Robinson came aboard.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know many teams that can lose one of the best left tackles in football and win six straight,\u201d Vikings coach Kevin O\u2019Connell said<\/a>, \u201cand that\u2019s a total testament to what Cam\u2019s been able to come in here and do. (Offensive-line coach) Chris Kuper and (offensive-line assistant) Shaun (Sarrett) coaching him. The other four guys, (left guard) Blake (Brandel) next to him from a communication standpoint. It\u2019s been kind of something even me sometimes when we\u2019re game-planning we\u2019re not really thinking about the fact that we don\u2019t have Christian Darrishaw in there, as great and as special as a player as he is, because we were able to find a guy like Cam Robinson to step in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Vikings will seek their seventh win in a row when they take on the Chicago Bears at 7 p.m. CST Monday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo Bills\u2019 48-42 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday opened the door for the Vikings to capture the NFC North. By stopping the Lions\u2019 11-game winning streak, the Bills dropped Detroit\u2019s record to 12-2. <\/p>\n

Minnesota enters Monday night\u2019s game with an 11-2 record. One of those loses came 31-29 to the Lions on Oct. 20. The division rivals play again on Jan. 5 on the final Sunday of the regular season.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaven\u2019t had this feeling about a team that\u2019s as successful win-wise in a long time,\u201d Robinson said<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of brought the fun back to the game for me. It\u2019s been great.\u201d<\/p>\n

After winning the Outland Trophy at Alabama in 2016, Robinson had been the Jaguars\u2019 starting left tackle in 91 regular-season and three playoff games \u2013 every one he played for the franchise. Jacksonville had a 37-57 record in those contests.<\/p>\n
