Mike Norvell<\/a> and his FSU staff have been the favorites to land four-star defensive back Chauncey Kennon<\/a> for weeks, and the Seminoles followed through Sunday afternoon by landing his commitment. <\/p>\n

Kennon is FSU\u2019s 22nd commitment for the class of 2026, and he\u2019s the highest-rated one yet. <\/p>\n

The Sarasota Booker standout is rated among the top 50 prospects in the country, one of the nation\u2019s top five cornerbacks and also one of the top five recruits in Florida.<\/p>\n

To land Kennon\u2019s commitment, the Seminoles had to beat out Florida, Georgia and many others. Throughout the process, Kennon said he loved what he saw and heard from FSU secondary coach Patrick Surtain<\/a> and Norvell.<\/p>\n

He also has always had a strong emotional attachment to the \u2018Noles.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a dream school. I always wanted to be at Florida State,\u201d Kennon said recently. \u201cAs y\u2019all know, my sister goes to Florida State, my family grew up liking Florida State, so it\u2019s just always been a dream school.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a huge month of June, FSU\u2019s recruiting momentum doesn\u2019t appear to be slowing down at all. Kennon\u2019s commitment comes just a few days after the Seminoles landed four-star defensive lineman Earnest Rankins.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
