Lincoln City (Ind.) Heritage Hills<\/a> four-star athlete Jett Goldsberry<\/a> committed to Ole Miss<\/a> on Monday. He\u2019ll play in the secondary for head coach Lane Kiffin<\/a> and the Rebels.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot, 195-pound Goldsberry chose the Rebels over his other finalists in North Carolina, Purdue, Rutgers and Wake Forest.<\/p>\n

Goldsberry visited Oxford in the spring and returned in the summer. He talked about what made Ole Miss right for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cMan so much,\u201d Goldsberry said. \u201cIt was such a special place and I just knew the first time I went there it was gonna be high on my list. The second time I went, I knew it was home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe square, the atmosphere, the coaches and the team are all so elite.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ranked as the nation\u2019s No. 15 athlete and No. 3 prospect in the Hoosier State, Goldsberry becomes commit No. 13 for Kiffin and the Rebels in the 2026 class<\/a>. Safeties coach Wes Neighbors<\/a> was the lead recruiter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat excites me is the way the coaches develop you not only on the field, but as a young man,\u201d Goldsberry said. \u201cAnd then also the opportunity to get developed enough to have a chance at the NFL.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goldsberry does it all on Friday nights and is coming off a terrific junior season capped by a state championship. Playing quarterback he threw for 1,807 yards and 26 touchdowns to just four interceptions with another 1,676 rushing yards and 28 more scores. A three-year starter on defense where he projects on the next level, Goldsberry has 212 career tackles, four forced fumbles and three interceptions.<\/p>\n

Goldsberry finished as a state placer in the 215-pound weight class in wresting and also shines in track and field.<\/p>\n

Ole Miss is working on a top 20 class, ranking No. 17<\/a> prior to Goldsberry\u2019s pledge. He is another big pickup. His father Jon Goldsberry starred at Purdue before playing running back in the NFL.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Lincoln City (Ind.)
