Former New England Patriots<\/a> quarterback Joe Milton III shared a highlight reel video of his incredible touchdown connection with wide receiver Demario Douglas during the Patriots’ regular season finale game against the Buffalo Bills<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The caption for the video said, “Joe Milton almost had one of the best plays of the year.”<\/p>\n

Milton took a snap out of shotgun during the play and evaded multiple defenders in the pocket with nifty footwork and a beautiful spin move before delivering a strike down the field to Douglas in the front corner of the end zone.<\/p>\n

The play was ultimately called back due to a penalty, but it was a tremendous sequence that showed off Milton’s ability to extend plays and create when things break down around him. Milton posted a five-word message with the shared video.<\/p>\n

“It counted in my books,” Milton posted on Instagram<\/a>, followed by a laughing emoji.<\/p>\n

Milton was traded to the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> back in early April for a fifth-round draft pick after only one season in New England. Not everyone was a fan<\/a> of the trade given Milton’s potential upside at quarterback.<\/p>\n

Instead of playing behind Drake Maye, he’ll now serve as the backup option behind longtime Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.<\/p>\n
