While the NFL offseason never fails to cause a stir, the excitement of NBA trades is always head-snapping. It’s window shopping time for big names and teams are always willing to put everything out there to buy. The NFL isn’t as aggressive, but\u00a0CBS Sports<\/a> compiled a list of NBA-style trades that could light a fire to the NFL offseason \u2014 in theory.<\/p>\n

If Green Bay and the New York Jets were willing to do it, here’s what a NBA-style trade for the Packers could look like.<\/p>\n

Cody Benjamin called it “The Green Bay gamble” with the Packers getting cornerback Sauce Gardner and the Jets getting offensive guard Sean Rhyan, linebacker Quay Walker, and a 2026 second-round pick.<\/p>\n

With Jaire Alexander now in Baltimore, this trade gives Green Bay a young shutdown corner to solidify its secondary. The Packers are a young team. Having certainty in the defensive backfield propels them closer towards a title at the right time in this era of Jordan Love.<\/p>\n

On the flip side, head coach Aaron Glenn could take a page from his stint in Detroit in return and apply it to a larger scale. The Lions went from struggle to success under Glenn’s scheme when he was defensive coordinator. In this trade proposal, trading away Gardner opens up room to amplify the team as a whole.<\/p>\n

Other than wide receiver depth, New York needs help on the offensive line and it needs a solid defensive tackle. Rhyan can anchor the Giants offensive front while Walker fills in the hole on defense. A second round pick also allows New York to pick up a receiver, looking in the near future of Glenn’s rebuild attempts.<\/p>\n
