{"id":191636,"date":"2025-07-08T19:16:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T19:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/191636\/"},"modified":"2025-07-08T19:16:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T19:16:10","slug":"raiders-trade-scenario-sends-disgruntled-68-million-star-wide-receiver-to-sin-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/191636\/","title":{"rendered":"Raiders trade scenario sends disgruntled $68 million star wide receiver to Sin City"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Las Vegas Raiders have a shaky situation when it comes to their wide receivers.<\/p>\n<p>Other than Jakobi Meyers, there isn&#8217;t a lot of experience in the room, and Las Vegas might have to depend on two rookies, Jack Bech and Dont&#8217;e Thornton, for big roles.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>That is, unless the team makes a significant move to bring in a veteran wide receiver, like Terry McLaurin of the Washington Commanders, for example.<\/p>\n<p>That scenario was recently floated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/five-best-trade-destinations-terry-mclaurin-amid-commanders-contract-dispute\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Sports Illustrated&#039;s Mike Kadlick;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Sports Illustrated&#8217;s Mike Kadlick<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;McLaurin would immediately enter Sin City as the No. 1 option in the Raiders&#8217; offense, creating a quality three-headed monster alongside Meyers and tight end Brock Bowers,&#8221; Kadlick wrote.<\/p>\n<p>McLaurin has been embroiled in a contract dispute with the Commanders during the offseason, and he&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25223311-terry-mclaurin-reportedly-not-happy-commanders-contract-extension-talks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:reportedly &quot;not happy&quot;;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">reportedly &#8220;not happy&#8221;<\/a> with how things are going.<\/p>\n<p>If neither side budges and McLaurin, who is entering the final year of his $68 million contract, decides to hold out, it&#8217;s conceivable Washington could trade him.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>As Kadlick notes, McLaurin would step into the No. 1 receiver role with the Raiders, who would likely have to give up a Day 2 pick to acquire his services.<\/p>\n<p>From there, Las Vegas would likely have to extend him to make McLaurin happy, but the Raiders have a <a href=\"https:\/\/overthecap.com\/salary-cap-space\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:good enough salary cap situation;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">good enough salary cap situation<\/a> over the next few years to get that done.<\/p>\n<p>In a division that has a ton of firepower, it certainly wouldn&#8217;t hurt for the Raiders to add more to their own offense.
