Tennessee Titans<\/a> cornerback Roger McCreary is set to enter a pivotal point in his career going into the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

The former second-round pick has spent the first three seasons of his career with the Titans after he was taken with the No. 35 overall pick during the 2022 NFL draft out of Auburn.<\/p>\n

Now entering the final year of his rookie contract, The Athletic’s Joe Rexrode believes McCreary’s contract is the top one<\/a> to keep an eye on in 2025.<\/p>\n

The Titans don\u2019t have too many contract extension decisions to make \u2014 that\u2019s what happens when you do a terrible job of drafting over several years and just had the worst record in the league with arguably the worst roster. But McCreary seems like a smart extension to get done this summer, as the 2022 second-round pick enters his fourth season. He has been a good player. Not a great one, but a versatile and durable one, missing just four games in his first three seasons. Considering all the other questions the Titans have at corner and elsewhere, locking in a pro like McCreary seems a solid bet for GM Mike Borgonzi.<\/p>\n

McCreary has had an up-and-down career with the Titans thus far. He’s shown flashes of being a reliable player, such as when he posted an 85.3 passer rating allowed on 81 targets during the 2023 season.<\/p>\n

However, McCreary regressed a bit in 2024, failing to record an interception for the first time in his career while allowing a 104.9 passer rating in coverage.<\/p>\n

With L’Jarius Sneed and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. working primarily on the outside, McCreary will hold the vital role in the slot entering training camp. His future with the team is unclear, but he can make himself a lot of money with a strong 2025 season.<\/p>\n
