Humphrey then recalled an “extremely humbling” conversation they had.

“I like D-Hop. I’ve gotten to have some conversations with him. He is ‘Mr. Contested Catch.’ That is for sure. Just having a conversation with him, I thought it was really humbling,” Humphrey said.

“We asked him — me and one of the strength coaches — ‘What do you think about the team from the outside looking in since you’ve been on other teams?’ And he said, ‘It seems like there’s been a piece that’s been missing. I could be that addition. I could not be that addition.’ And to hear a veteran guy, All-Pro guy, Pro Bowl guy say he could be, or he could not be [the piece that’s missing], to me, that was extremely humbling. I feel that he fits the Ravens mold, and I think he’ll fit right in.”

The 33-year-old Hopkins has amassed 984 receptions for 12,965 yards and 83 touchdowns during his Hall of Fame-caliber career with the Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, Titans and Chiefs since being selected by Houston in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Last season, Hopkins tallied 41 receptions for 437 yards and four touchdowns across 10 regular season games with the Chiefs before adding three catches for 29 yards and a touchdown over three postseason games, with that touchdown coming in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles.

–Photo courtesy of Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images

Former Clemson star DeAndre Hopkins heads into the 2025 season with his third team in as many years,…

[2052
184,117,2282,5320,7,5324,5322,6,5321,169,5323,5325
0":"post-194345","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-baltimore-ravens","8":"tag-baltimore","9":"tag-baltimore-ravens","10":"tag-baltimoreravens","11":"tag-clemson-insider-podcast","12":"tag-football","13":"tag-gymnastics","14":"tag-hero","15":"tag-nfl","16":"tag-noonan","17":"tag-ravens","18":"tag-track-and-field","19":"tag-wednesday
["GET
