In case you forgot, Micah Parsons<\/a> is really good at football.<\/p>\n

The Dallas Cowboys<\/a>\u2019 defensive superstar came in at No. 3 in ESPN\u2019s new positional ranking<\/a> of the top edge rushers in the NFL.<\/p>\n

Parsons came in behind the Cleveland Browns\u2019 Myles Garrett (an Arlington Martin and Texas A&M product) and the Pittsburgh Steelers\u2019 T.J. Watt. This is the sixth edition of the annual poll and this year\u2019s was voted on by more than 70 league executives, coaches and scouts. <\/p>\n

“The numbers say Parsons has a compelling case for No. 1\u201a” ESPN\u2019s Jeremy Fowler writes. “His 126 pressures and 31.0% pass rush win rate since 2023 lead the NFL. He has done this despite facing a 31.5% double-team rate in 2024, highest among edge rushers on this list.”<\/p>\n

Fowler also notes that Parsons is the second player in NFL history to tally 12 or more sacks in his first four seasons, joining Hall of Famer Reggie White.<\/p>\n

\u201cExplosiveness, motor, violence, can align inside and beat [interior offensive linemen] with first-step quickness. He\u2019s such a tone setter that everyone else feeds off his energy,\u201d said an unnamed NFL personnel director.<\/p>\n

Parsons\u2019 stature as one of the game\u2019s top disruptors is clear as he looks for a contract extension this offseason. He is reportedly seeking the first $200 million contract<\/a> for a defensive player. Garrett, the top-ranked edge rusher according to ESPN, set the record earlier this offseason with a four-year, $160 million extension with the Browns<\/a>.<\/p>\n
