The Buffalo Bills are coming off one of the best seasons in franchise history. They broke the franchise record for points in a season and became the first team in history with 30 touchdown passes and 30 touchdown runs.<\/p>\n

Despite this success, as well as a trip to the AFC Championship Game, Bill Barnwell of ESPN<\/a> ranked Buffalo as the 28th best skill-position group in the NFL.<\/p>\n

“This probably feels low for one of the league’s best offenses, but star quarterback\u00a0Josh Allen\u00a0has been removed from the equation,” Barnwell writes. “While general manager Brandon Beane might disagree, this is likely the least imposing group of receivers in the NFL on paper.\u00a0Khalil Shakir\u00a0continues to\u00a0improve\u00a0and averaged an impressive 2.4 yards per route run last season, but virtually every other Buffalo pass catcher failed to take a leap forward.\u00a0Dalton Kincaid\u00a0failed to top 55 receiving yards in a game. Second-round pick\u00a0Keon Coleman\u00a0averaged 19.2 yards per catch, but he wasn’t able to command a consistent role in the lineup and had just three catches on 46 routes in the postseason. Free agent addition\u00a0Curtis Samuel\u00a0was often anonymous, and while\u00a0Mack Hollins\u00a0exceeded expectations, he has been\u00a0replaced\u00a0by former Chargers wideout\u00a0Joshua Palmer.”<\/p>\n

The Bills may have led the NFL in points in 2024, but a lot of that comes down to Josh Allen being a pretty good problem solver and being able to make anything work. Is 28th too low of a ranking? Potentially. That said, it’s hard to argue the Bills’ group pf skill position players is super high.<\/p>\n
