The Cleveland Browns<\/a> will see their quarterbacks and rookies report in just over a week, beginning one of the biggest NFL storylines in training camp: what is going to happen between Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders?<\/p>\n

The Browns will host a four-way quarterback battle in training camp, leaving room for even one of the rookies in Gabriel or Sanders to win the job<\/a>. One former NFL receiver has a take on the Browns’ quarterback situation as well, stating that Sanders should have the upper hand between he and the earlier drafted Gabriel.<\/p>\n

Cecil Shorts III, a former Mount Union product and long-time NFL wide receiver, was on The Ultimate Cleveland Show<\/a> and stated that there is no question who the better quarterback is:<\/p>\n

“To me, talent-wise like you mentioned, Shedeur is way better than Dillon… Dillon wasn’t on anybody’s list. Let’s call a spade of spade. Nobody was thinking about Dillon Gabriel being drafted in the first three rounds. Nobody. Wasn’t on anybody’s list. Nobody was talking about him on TV at all. Come on, let’s be real here.”<\/p>\n

Shorts then even went on to say how he would handle the Browns’ quarterback situation, stating that he would let one quarterback play it out for 17 games:<\/p>\n

“Let them battle it out, choose one and ride with them and see what they can do… And I’m not big on switching quarterbacks…I hate that. Let the rookie battle all 17 games; if he’s healthy, battle all 17 games. Let him develop. Let him get better.”<\/p>\n

And it’s clear which quarterback Shorts prefers.<\/p>\n
