This is about WR Bryson Green.

The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.

Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook.

This focuses on receiver Bryson Green.

Bryson Green background, 2024 season

Green is a rookie who signed with the Cardinals out of Wisconsin after going undrafted in April. He was one of seven rookie free agents the Cardinals added this offseason following the draft.

Green played four collegiate seasons, beginning first at Oklahoma State for two years and finishing his final two for Wisconsin. In four years, he played in 42 games and caught 97 passes for 1,422 yards and 11 touchdowns. His most productive season was in 2022, his second season at Oklahoma State, when he had 36 receptions for 584 yards and five touchdowns, all career-highs.

He had a knee injury in 2024 that limited him to eight games. He caught 17 passes for 219 yards and two scores last season.

Bryson Green 2025 contract details, cap hit

Green signed a standard three-year rookie deal worth nearly $3 million. He received a $30,000 signing bonus and will make the league-minimum $840,000 salary for a first-year player. Of that salary, $234,000 is guaranteed, which is equal to 18 weeks of salary for a practice squad player.

His cap hit in 2025 is $850,000 if he makes the active roster.

Questions he faces, roster outlook

Green enters training camp with the same questions all rookie have — can they adjust to the pro game? The difference is that the Cardinals did not invest a draft pick on him, so he has to prove his worth even more. And the Cardinals have a crowded wide receiver room.

He is a longshot to make the active roster, but his salary guarantees suggest that he will be a priority to keep on the practice squad this year.

Get more Cardinals and NFL coverage from Cards Wire’s Jess Root and others by listening to the latest on the Rise Up, See Red podcast.
