Can Tyler Warren make a push in 2026?

No member of the Indianapolis Colts’ tight end unit made ESPN’s top tight end rankings this season, but can Tyler Warren position himself in 2025 to be in the conversation in 2026?

Jeremy Fowler spoke with NFL execs, coaches, and scouts to compile his list of the top 10 tight ends entering the 2025 season. Beyond the top 10 list, there were also seven tight ends who were honorable mentions, and another five tight ends who received votes.

It’s not surprising that the Colts are absent this year. The only player on the roster likely to make a run at these rankings is Warren, and he’s yet to play an NFL snap.

However, the opportunity for Warren to hit the ground running in this Colts’ offense and make some noise does very much seem to be present. As Stephen Holder, who covers the Colts for ESPN, wrote, it was “practically impossible to watch an Indianapolis practice and not notice how often Warren touched the football.”

Warren can provide the Colts with that much-needed passing game presence at the tight end position, and as GM Chris Ballard described after the NFL draft, over the middle of the field, in particular, is where he can be a real matchup problem.

While Warren’s receiving production will be what garners the attention, his versatility and blocking abilities allow him to impact the offense in a variety of ways. When there is a do-it-all presence at tight end, it opens the playbook for the play caller and adds some unpredictability to an offense with that player able to fill so many roles.

On ESPN’s 2025 rankings, the Raiders‘ Brock Bowers is the only Year 2 tight end to be mentioned, and he came in at No. 1 after a dominant rookie season.

The Colts were absent from the latest 2025 tight end rankings from ESPN.
