Notre Dame had always been near the top of Nick Reddish\u2019s<\/a> list and in the end, that\u2019s exactly where the Irish ended.<\/p>\n

The 2026 North Carolina safety announced his commitment to the Irish on Friday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was definitely the legacy,\u201d Reddish told Irish Sports Daily prior to his announcement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat’s definitely probably the biggest part of the school, the history behind it. I’m beyond blessed to have this whole journey unfold and see where it takes me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Independence High School star chose Notre Dame over schools like Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and Indiana among several others.<\/p>\n

Reddish gives Notre Dame 26 verbal commitments in the Class of 2026 and joins Joey O’Brien<\/a>\u200d, Ayden Pouncey<\/a>\u200d, Khary Adams<\/a>\u200d\u00a0and Chaston Smith<\/a>\u200d\u00a0to give the Irish one of the most formidable defensive back groupings in the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The overall class as a whole helped the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder make his choice.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn my official visit, I was down there with them,\u201d said Reddish. \u201cI talk to them almost all the time now. It’s always a great time with those guys. I’m ready to work with them when I get down there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Irish coaching staff also played a major role in Reddish\u2019s recruitment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything,\u201d Reddish said when asked what the Notre Dame coaches meant to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey’ve been in my recruiting process for a really long time. It’s really just relationships and family that I feel down there. I feel at home for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reddish is grateful for the recruiting process, but also glad it\u2019s over.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a blessing honestly,\u201d he said. \u201cIt is hectic but not everybody gets these cards dealt to them, so I can’t really complain with the hand I got dealt. It’s a blessing for sure. I’m just ready to get back to football and have to worry about just football and be able to play with the guys and have fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

He wants Irish fans to know they\u2019re getting somebody who will always give it his all.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cA dog for sure, a leader, somebody that’s going to communicate, somebody that’s going to work hard every day,\u201d he said of what he will bring to South Bend.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven if something doesn’t go my way, I’m going to put a smile on my face and change it. I feel like body language is definitely my biggest aspect of my game and I’m not going to let somebody see me down.\u201d<\/p>\n
