The Arizona Cardinals<\/a> report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.<\/p>\n Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook.<\/p>\n Next up is cornerback Max Melton.<\/p>\n Max Melton background, 2024 season<\/p>\n Melton came to the Cardinals as a second-round pick in 2024 and played all 17 games with three starts. He played 565 defensive snaps (52 percent) as well as 212 (49 percent) on special teams.<\/p>\n On defense, he totaled 45 tackles (31 solo, two for loss) to go with five passes defensed and one forced fumble. Melton tied for second on the team with seven special-teams tackles (six solo).<\/p>\n Max Melton 2025 contract details, cap hit<\/p>\n In the second year of his rookie four-year contract, Melton will be paid a guaranteed base salary $1.199 million while carrying a salary-cap charge of $2.02 million.<\/p>\n 2025 questions, roster outlook<\/p>\n The expectation is that Melton will make a big jump from Year 1 to Year 2.
