#Colts<\/a> FS and proud Filipino Cam Bynum shared some photos of himself training with fellow Filipino and boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.<\/p>\n Pacquiao, 46, will end his retirement and fight Mario Barrios next Saturday in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n \ud83d\udcf8 Bynum\u2019s IG pic.twitter.com\/rqwusnlMRM<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 James Boyd (@RomeovilleKid) July 12, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n (This story was updated to add new information.)<\/p>\n Indianapolis Colts’ <\/a>safety Cam Bynum recently shared some photos of himself on his Instagram account training with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao from earlier this offseason.<\/p>\n The 46-year-old Pacquiao is coming out of retirement to face Mario Barrios<\/a> on July 19th.<\/p>\n “The one conversation we had when I was training with him this time, we were doing an ab workout, and he said it’s your choice if you get knocked down with a body shot,” Bynum said of training with Pacquiao, via the Colts Podcast<\/a>. “In my mind, putting that in football terms, you’re in charge of your preparation. He’s like, if you get knocked out by getting hit to the face, hit to the head, that’s fine, that’s just a good punch, but if you get knocked out to the body, that means you didn’t prepare well enough.<\/p>\n “That’s one thing, when I hear that, I instantly translate that to football. I can win if I prepare, if I know the other team, know the offense I’m going against, if i watch enough tape, if I\u00a0do enough footwork during the week to be good on my coverage. That’s the only thing I’m watching, translating the work ethic, the footwork he does in the ring. He’s always on his feet, how can I apply this to football?”<\/p>\n Bynum–along with cornerback Charvarius Ward–was one of the Colts<\/a>‘ major offseason additions, with general manager Chris Ballard signing the free agent safety to a four-year, $60 million deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bynum brings impressive ball production to the Colts’ secondary, along with versatility, allowing him to fill a variety of roles, a skill set that is quite valuable in Lou Anarumo’s disguise-heavy defensive scheme.<\/p>\n “Another guy that’s got a bunch of different skill sets that can help us,” Anarumo said of Bynum<\/a>. “He started out as a corner, so he’s got some coverage ability. He’s always been able to take the ball away. He’s been a consistent tackler. He’s super smart. He’s played in a few systems, so he has a good feel for a little bit of everything, just in terms of not one particular defense.”<\/p>\n
