TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 The Tampa Bay Buccaneers\u2019 offseason is suddenly in full gear.<\/p>\n

In a flurry of moves over a matter of days, Tampa Bay has agreed to another season from its defensive leader, added a pass rusher and reached a deal with a productive fan favorite.<\/p>\n

With free agency officially starting Wednesday, Tampa Bay jumped into the early negotiation period, agreeing to terms with defensive end Haason Reddick. The Bucs also re-signed wide receiver Chris Godwin to a three-year deal<\/a>, the team announced. Tampa Bay did not disclose the value of Godwin’s contract, but ESPN reported it is worth $60 million.<\/p>\n

Set to become a free agent, Godwin is remaining with the team that drafted him. At 29, Godwin is coming off a dislocated left ankle in the Bucs’ Week 7 game, which required surgery and ended his 2024 season.<\/p>\n

Still, he had 50 catches, 576 yards and five touchdowns in those seven games last season.<\/p>\n

Reddick, meanwhile, is coming off a 2024 season in which he spent seven weeks holding out from the New York Jets after they acquired him in the offseason from the Philadelphia Phillies.<\/p>\n

He managed 2.5 sacks in 10 games with the Jets. He signed a one-year deal with the Bucs for $14 million.<\/p>\n

And veteran linebacker and team leader Lavonte David is returning for a 14th season.<\/p>\n

The team announced Friday that David has agreed to terms<\/a>. A person with knowledge of the contract told The Associated Press that David\u2019s one-year deal is worth $10 million, with $9 million guaranteed.<\/p>\n

David, an All-Pro in 2013, has been a leader for Tampa Bay\u2019s defense for more than a decade. He has played in 198 games, third-most in franchise history and averaged 123 tackles per season. David has 39 career sacks, 13 interceptions, 31 forced fumbles and 19 fumble recoveries.<\/p>\n

\u201cLavonte is not only one of the greatest Buccaneers in history, but is the embodiment of consistency, excellence, and leadership.\u201d Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht said in a statement. \u201cFor over a decade, he has been the heart of our defense, setting the standard with his relentless work ethic and passion for the game.”<\/p>\n
